Overview of the Axis Q1942-E PT
This outdoor-ready bullet camera from Axis delivers thermal imaging in 640 x 480 resolution that can be scaled up to 800 x 600 (SVGA). Mounted on a pan-tilt (PT) motor, this thermal IP camera offers reliable security monitoring and precise navigation across areas that are often in complete darkness or subject to smoke, haze or fog. In addition, a choice of lens sizes is available and the unit can be easily installed using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).
Designed for use in external locations, the camera’s IP67-rated aluminium housing also features a built-in window heater and can operate in temperatures as low as -40°C. Four different lens options allow users to select the most suitable angle of view (from 10° to 63°) to meet their monitoring requirements.
The camera is also equipped with a variety of image optimisation technologies that help to ensure the delivery of high-quality IP video. Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) is included to reduce the effects of camera movement from wind or vibrations, and Axis Corridor Format allows viewing in narrow scenes to be optimised by rotating the sensor 90° - preventing the recording of redundant areas.
A range of configurable video motion detection alarms are available which help to enhance security monitoring. Users can also be made aware of possible vandalism attempts thanks to the unit’s integrated shock detection technology which triggers an alert if the camera is subject to impact. An ideal choice for mission-critical applications, thermal imaging cameras are less sensitive to shadows and challenging light conditions which allows them to achieve high accuracy with fewer false alarms when compared to non-thermal network cameras.
Axis Zipstream is included to help lower bandwidth and storage levels by an average of up to 50%. This advanced technology optimises the video stream in real-time, allowing important details to be retained while unnecessary data is removed. In addition, data can be stored directly to the onboard MicroSD card (not included) for a handy backup of data if network connection is suddenly lost, and PoE support delivers power and network connectivity over a single cable.
Please note: there is no power supply included with this unit. It is power over ethernet capable.
