The camera is capable of detecting and capturing licence plate information from vehicles travelling in a single lane at speeds of up to 81 mph (130 km/h). Axis' OptimisedIR technology provides enhanced night vision and intelligently adapts the level of infrared illumination from the IR LEDs to avoid overexposure. This versatile unit is capable of capturing traffic in one lane at a range of up to 100m during daytime and within 50m in darkness. Additionally, the optional Axis T90D20 IR-LED illuminator can be connected to extend the camera's night vision range up to 100m (not included).
Axis Forensic WDR technology helps to improve the quality of images captured in high-contrast scenes. By lowering noise levels and increasing the image signal, this technology ensures details are clearly visible in both bright and dark areas. Thanks to Axis’ built-in licence plate capture assistant, the camera’s image settings are also optimised based on the mounting height, distance to the vehicle and expected vehicle speed – ensuring the capture of legible licence plate information. In addition, Axis' Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) technology offsets the effect of camera movement by ensuring video is clear and not blurred.
Built on an open platform, the Q1700-LE offers support for the integration of third-party analytics - allowing it to provide specific solutions for a variety of vehicle monitoring applications.
Sophisticated video management is possible through integration with high-performance VMS such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect. Additionally, recordings can be stored locally to the on-board MicroSD card (not included) and used as a backup if the network fails.
Suitable for deployment in demanding locations, this robust and weatherproof camera includes an extra-long weather shield - ensuring reliable operation in extreme weather conditions and the ability to withstand winds up to 134 mph. Remote zoom helps eliminate the need for hands-on fine-tuning, and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) compatibility means the camera can be supplied with both power and network connectivity over a single cable - further simplifying installation.
