Overview of the Axis P8513 (0451-001)

The Axis P8513 is designed for use in locations open to the public, where conventionally-mounted, downward looking cameras may be obstructed by hats. The camera is non-invasively mounted at eye-level, allowing up-close images of facial features to be captured unobtrusively.

The housing of the camera resembles a length of 3m heating pipe or electrical conduit and is available in either white, black or chrome paint finishes, allowing it to blend seamlessly with the surroundings. The maximum resolution of 800x600 also lets the camera capture more detail than standard cameras, making it easier to identify people.

Quick to install, the camera comes with a pre-mounted network cable, reducing the wiring required, and also supports Power over Ethernet, so no separate power supply is required. Additionally, Axis' pixel counter system provides data on the resolution of objects such as faces in view, letting installers verify that requirements for identification are being met.
