Overview of the Axis P3225-V Mk II

This vandal-resistant dome is part of the robust P32 series by Axis and delivers smooth HD 1080p resolution round-the-clock, at up to 50 frames per second (fps). It delivers high quality imaging in challenging lighting conditions using Axis’ Lightfinder and wide dynamic range (WDR) – Forensic Capture technologies, and can be easily installed using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). Additional features include Zipstream technology and integrated MicroSD card storage.

The camera features a varifocal lens which provides horizontal viewing angles up to 92° and allows optimum scene coverage to be set during installation. Users can monitor areas of interest effectively using multi-streaming which allows regions of interest to be cropped and streamed separately for live viewing or recording.

WDR – Forensic Capture technology optimises video by lowering noise levels and increasing the image signal to ensure details are visible in both dark and bright areas. In addition, Lightfinder technology makes full use of the of the camera’s sensor to provide full colour imaging in near darkness. Using Axis Corridor Format, users can vertically orientate the video stream to help maximise area coverage and reduce bandwidth when monitoring narrow scenes.

Axis Companion can be installed to provide simple video management for up to 16 IP cameras. This free software offers remote access to live views as well as playback of recordings and is available as a PC client or mobile application.

Video motion detection alarms can be configured to enhance scene awareness and notify users of activity via notifications such as email. Detection alarms can also be set to trigger recording to the on-board MicroSD card (not included) when using the Axis Companion mobile app.

Remote focus and zoom eliminate the need for hands-on fine tuning and PoE compatibility means the camera can be supplied with both power and network connectivity over a single cable – simplifying installation. Axis’ Zipstream technology is supported and helps to lower bandwidth and storage levels by an average of up to 50%. By optimising the video stream in real-time, important details can be retained while unnecessary data is removed.
