Overview of the Axis P3224-V Mk II

Part of the feature packed Axis P32 series, this vandal-resistant dome delivers smooth HD 720p resolution video at up to 50 frames per second (fps). The camera supports true day/night recording, as well as Axis' Lightfinder and wide dynamic range (WDR) - Forensic Capture technologies for high quality image capture - 24 hours a day. Additional features include Zipstream technology, integrated MicroSD card storage and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

The unit’s varifocal lens provides wide horizontal viewing angles and allows optimum scene coverage to be set during installation. Users can monitor areas of interest efficiently with multi-view streaming; this feature allows specific regions within the camera’s field of view to be cropped and streamed separately for live viewing or recording.

A range of advanced imaging technologies are included to help deliver clear video footage in difficult lighting conditions. WDR – Forensic Capture allows details in scenes with bright and dark areas to be viewed clearly (up to 25 fps), whilst Axis Lightfinder technology supports the capture of full colour images - even in extreme levels of low-light. In addition, Axis Corridor Format helps to maximise the area of interest in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream.

The Axis Companion application can be downloaded free-of-charge to provide a simple video management solution for up to 16 IP cameras. Available as a PC client or mobile application for iOS and android devices, this handy software provides remote access to live views as well as playback of recordings.

Configurable camera-based video motion detection alarms help to alert users of activity via notifications such as email. Motion detection alarms can also be set to trigger on-board MicroSD card recording when using the Axis Companion mobile app.

Installation is simplified by a handful of features including support for PoE, as well as remote zoom and focus that eliminates the need for hands-on fine tuning. In addition, Axis' Zipstream technology analyses and optimises the video stream in real time, recording important details in high quality, whilst filtering out other areas to help reduce bandwidth and storage use.
