Overview of the Axis P3224-LVE Mk II

This outdoor-ready network camera by Axis is part of the P32 series, featuring an IP66 ingress rated and IK10 vandal-resistant housing. Providing HDTV 720p video quality, this model features a varifocal lens with remote zoom and focus enabling quick and easy installation. True day/night capability along with OptimisedIR and P-iris control help achieve high quality image capture in all lighting conditions. Additionally, the units power efficient IR LEDs have an illumination range of up to 30m and by adjusting the angle and intensity, an optimum level of night vision is ensured. Other features of this compact dome camera include WDR forensic capture as well as Axis Lightfinder and Zipstream technologies.

This affordable IP camera provides a protection solution against vandalism and is designed for external use in environments subject to dust, rain and low temperatures. Its small and compact design allows this model to be placed seamlessly within its surroundings, providing unobtrusive CCTV surveillance. The remote zoom and pixel counter capabilities within the unit ensure that the angle of view can be optimised for the scene.

The camera's varifocal 2.8-10mm lens provides a 90°-34° horizontal angle of view, which creates a cost-effective CCTV solution because a wider area of the scene can be covered with less units. With support for digital pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) viewing, the user is able to examine the original image in greater detail – helpful for identification purposes.

Featuring an IR cut filter that switches from full colour images in day time to monochrome images at night, providing a round the clock surveillance solution. Axis' integrated OptimisedIR automatically adapts to the zoom level that is set at installation, ensuring an evenly illuminated image. Wide Dynamic Range - Forensic Capture technology enables details in scenes with bright and dark areas to be viewed clearly, whilst Axis' Lightfinder technology provides full colour viewing in extreme low-light conditions.

Various video motion detection methods such as line crossing and tampering alarms can be configured to enhance dynamic scene awareness and deliver reliable security monitoring.

Power-over-Ethernet compatibility allows the camera to receive power and network connectivity over a single cable. Multiple and individually configurable H.264 and MJPEG video streams are supported within this unit . Axis Zipstream technology lowers bandwidth and storage requirements, the technology ensures that important details within the image are maintained within the stream, while unnecessary data can be removed. Edge storage onto a built-in MicroSD card (card not included) provides a backup in the event of network failure.
