This outdoor-ready dome from Axis captures 6MP resolution video round-the-clock at up to 25 frames per second (fps). With up to 20m OptimisedIR as well as Forensic Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and Lightfinder technologies, the camera can record high-quality video even in challenging lighting conditions. It also supports a wide range of viewing modes, including 360° overview, to provide comprehensive overviews. Additional features include support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), edge storage (microSD card not included) and remote access to live views and playback via the free Axis Companion application.
Camera
The unit features a 360° hemispheric lens, capturing footage from all angles and helping to eliminate blind spots. OptimisedIR technology is also included This technology intelligently adapts the level of IR illumination from the unit’s integrated LEDs to best suit the scene and avoid overexposure – enhancing night vision at a distance of up to 20m.
Imaging
Thanks to support for various viewing modes, such as double panorama and quad view, the camera’s original 360° image can be seen with less distortion. Users can also more closely examine specific areas of interest in the original image using digital pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) controls. Advanced Axis imaging technologies are also included in this model. Forensic WDR technology ensures details in high contrast scenes are not lost and few motion artefacts are apparent – while Lightfinder enables the capture of full-colour images in near darkness.
Video analytics
Various video motion detection methods can be configured to enhance dynamic scene awareness and deliver reliable security monitoring. This camera also features support for the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP) which enables the installation of advanced analytics applications from both Axis and third-party developers.
Video management
Edge storage is included, and recordings can be written to the onboard MicroSD card (not included) - providing a helpful backup of data if the network fails. By installing the free Axis Companion application, users can also remotely access the unit for simple video management of up to 16 camera channels. For further functionality, the unit can be easily integrated into other high-performance video management systems, such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect. Additionally, a cloud-based solution can be implemented through the intuitive Morphean Cloud CCTV platform or the CamStreamer Cloud subscription.
Installation
The attractively priced camera is housed in a vandal-resistant, IP66 and IK10-rated casing for reliable use in exposed outdoor locations. The installation process is also simplified by PoE support – providing power and network connectivity over a single cable.
