Overview of the Axis M3048-P
This panoramic dome IP camera from Axis features a 12MP sensor and delivers high-definition, 360° overviews of indoor locations. It’s sleek, ‘no-dome’ design allows for unobtrusive installation onto a wall or ceiling and the integrated HDMI output supports the connection of a local HD monitor. Additional features include on-board MicroSD card storage, Axis Zipstream technology and remote access via the free Axis Companion application.
Various viewing modes including panoramic and quad view are supported, allowing the original fisheye image to be seen with less distortion. Additionally, digital pan/tilt/zoom controls enable users to examine the full 360° image in more detail. These zoomed-in sections can then be cropped and used in combination with multi-view streaming; a handy feature which allows users to simultaneously stream the full 360° overview alongside one dewarped view or a maximum of two cropped views.
A range of configurable, camera-based video motion detection alarms are available to help alert users of activity via a choice of notification methods including email. These alarms can also be set to trigger recording to the on-board MicroSD card (not included) - ensuring no vital footage is missed.
Users can install the Axis Companion application to provide a simple video management solution for up to 16 camera channels. This free software offers remote access to live views as well as playback of recordings and is available as a PC client or mobile application.
Axis’ advanced Zipstream technology analyses and optimises the video stream in real time, recording important details in high quality, whilst filtering out other areas to help reduce bandwidth and storage use.
