Overview of 0221-003 Axis 221

The Axis 221 network camera is ideally suited to a wide range of scenarios where a 24-hour monitoring solution is needed, such as factories, hotels and offices. The camera can provide a stream of up to 45 frames-per-second in VGA resolution and uses progressive scan to eliminate distortion and motion blur from the image.

Alongside these features, the 221 features full day/night functionality, giving you round-the-clock surveillance. During the day, a full-quality colour image is provided. At night, using an automatic infrared filter, the camera switches to an infrared-sensitive black and white image. A built-in motion alarm can trigger recording and notify you by e-mail of any activity, and 2 alarm inputs and 1 alarm output allow you to customize the camera with additional alarm triggers to suit a wide variety of installations.

As well as this, Power over Ethernet provides both power and a network connection to the camera through a single cable, substantially reducing costs and time during installation. The 221 also has a built-in web server, allowing you to view a live feed from the camera using any standard web browser such as Internet Explorer or Google Chrome - no additional software is required.
