The ASSA ABLOY Aperio E100 series escutcheon offers a simple and cost-effective way to upgrade compatible mechanical mortice door locks for secure electronic access control. It features credential access on the external side with key override capability, while the internal lever ensures safe egress in case of emergency. The unit includes a battery-powered proximity reader that wirelessly connects to the communication hub, which is then linked to the access control system. This setup delivers full access control functionality at a fraction of the cost of traditional hard-wired doors. The E100 is built for flexibility, fitting European (DIN) mortice locks on wooden, steel, tubular-frame, and glass doors. Powered by a long-life CR123A lithium battery with micro-USB backup, it delivers reliable performance with minimal maintenance.
Credential Support
With compatibility across leading RFID technologies including iCLASS, MIFARE, and LEGIC, it ensures broad credential support for a range of cards and fobs. It also supports mobile credentials through NFC, Bluetooth, Apple Wallet, and Google Wallet, providing a secure and convenient way to manage entry.
Aperio System Architecture
The Aperio RS485 Communication Hub acts as the bridge between Aperio wireless handles and the access control system. Each hub can manage multiple doors, connecting the battery-powered escutcheons via a secure wireless link and transferring data in real time to the system over a standard IP network. This setup enables full access control functionality without the need for hard wiring at every door. The Aperio Programming Application Software is used for installation and configuration by plugging the USB radio dongle into a PC to provide communication with the handles via the hub, using an encrypted installation database.
