The Vivotek IP8161 is a 2-megapixel fixed network surveillance camera able to operate normally during the day and then continue to function at night in when used with infrared lighting. Designed for monitoring large areas, this camera is a good choice for environments like airports, shopping centres or warehouses.

H.264 video compression enables the camera to optimise bandwidth usage without affecting the video quality, while its support of two-way audio and built-in microphone allows the user to communicate quickly and easily with people on site.

The camera’s tamper detection function immediately sends an alert if the camera is obscured or damaged and its Power over Ethernet (PoE) facility means a single Ethernet cable can supply both power and data to the camera, simplifying installation and allowing it to be deployed in a variety of areas without a power supply nearby.
