The Vivotek IP7161 is a 2-megapixel, fixed IP surveillance camera with a switchable infrared-cut filter which can produce clear, defined images during the day and, when used with an infrared lamp, can do so at night as well. It is designed to provide CCTV coverage in large areas where accurate identification of people and objects is required, such as car parks, airports or railway stations.

The camera supports two-way audio communication, allowing the operator to talk to personnel on-site, or warn intruders. The camera also features tamper detection, which alerts the user immediately via email if the camera is blocked or moved.

It is also possible to save recordings on an SD/SDHC memory card without having to use additional hardware, while Power over Ethernet means that a single Ethernet cable can carry both power and data to the camera, allowing a single Ethernet cable to carry power and data to the camera, making installation easier and allowing the camera to be placed in a wide range of locations.
