The Vivotek IP7142 is a small form factor, outdoor IP CCTV security camera with built-in infrared LEDs, offering images in conditions with no external light source. The camera comes equipped with a 1/3” CMOS sensor which provides a maximum resolution of 720x480 and a maximum image rate of 25 images per second.

The IP7142 also offers 12 infrared LEDs in conjunction with a switchable infrared cut filter allowing the camera to illuminate objects in areas with no external light at a distance of up to 15 metres and can be set to turn on automatically when light levels drop by means of a built in light sensor. The casing of the IP7142 is IP66 rated enclosure. This means that the camera can be placed outside, or in humid or dusty conditions without worry of damage to the camera.

For network viewers, the IP7142 offers simultaneous MJPEG and MPEG-4 compression for up to 10 concurrent users and includes MPEG-4 multicasting for sending one single stream to multiple clients. Alternatively, the IP7142 also supports the 3GPP protocol meaning that viewers can check the camera from anywhere in the world using their internet enabled mobile phone.

The IP7142 supports a variety of functions including Power over Ethernet (PoE) to save time and money during installations, two-way audio to allow viewers to communicate with people around the camera and 3GPP browser support to allow mobile phone viewers to receive a stream from the camera when away from a computer.
