Part of the Vivotek FE8000 range of 360° megapixel dome cameras, the FE8173 provides 3 megapixel resolution (15 fps) or full HD 1080p capability for crisp surveillance footage. 360°/180° views enable effective coverage of large areas without blind spots and true day/night capability allows 24/7 image capture. The FE8173 offers various viewing modes including surround, panoramic and regional view for flexible mounting depending on application. The camera also has a built-in microphone effective up to 5 metres to capture audio for more in depth event analysis.

When hemispherical images are captured from the fisheye lens, they can be corrected into conventional rectilinear projection within panoramic and regional view for viewing and analysis, the user can also utilise the handy ePTZ tool for further analysis on specific areas of interest. The built-in pixel calculator function enables the user to ensure the image quality of a designated area, saving bandwidth and allowing detailed viewing of a region of interest. Wide dynamic range technology enables detail capture even in challenging lighting such as doorways and windows, where bright light can often saturate footage.

The Vivotek FE8173 network camera enables easy and cost-effective installation and maintenance through Power over Ethernet (PoE) support and on-board recording onto an SD card. A choice of 3 compression methods gives the user flexibility with bandwidth and storage use, depending on the application. Included Vivotek ST7501 recording software provides user-friendly management for up to 32 cameras and also supports mobile access for remote viewing and playback.
