Overview of the Synology RX1217RP
The RX1217RP expansion unit consists of twelve drive bays that provide up to 120TB of additional storage for connected Synology RackStation Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices - via the included expansion cable.
The hot-swappable drive design provides simple and efficient installation of additional hard drives, and an Infiniband port maintains a high-performance connection with full throughput. The constant high-speed connection means that any hard drives used in the RX1217RP and the connected Synology RackStation will operate seamlessly, with no lag in data retrieval.
The RackStation RAID volume can be expanded effortlessly without the requirement to reformat any existing hard drives - allowing for an uninterrupted service during expansion.
If preferred, this unit can also be set up as a dedicated local backup solution. Additionally, redundant power supply units offer fail-over support which will automatically activate in the event of a PSU failure, ensuring a 24/7 service uptime.
Please note: This expansion unit can be supplied with a choice of up to twelve 6TB WD Purple hard drives (fitting required). These drives are specifically engineered for video surveillance applications. (Please select storage from the dropdown menu above).
