Overview of the Sony SNC-ER585

The Sony SNC-ER585 outdoor PTZ dome network camera offers a feature-rich, high-end surveillance solution for external applications. The IP66 and IK10 ratings support the camera to operate in temperatures from -40°C to + 60°C, and in enduring rain, heavy dust and impact conditions. The camera-head's Exmor CMOS sensor and processor produces HD 1080p video at 30 frames per second, offering fast frame rate in high HD quality. Its PTZ operation, 360° continuous high-speed rotation and 210° total tilt range deliver optimised coverage with the added ability to optically zoom a powerful 30x without compromising image quality.

‘True’ day/night functionality enables the camera to produce images 24/7 through the use of an IR-cut filter where the camera produces black and white images in dark conditions. Noise reduction technology eliminates noise from images captured in low light environments and the image stabiliser removes blur from images captured if the camera is subject to movement e.g. vibrations or wind buffeting. Wide dynamic range enhances contrast in a scene, lessening saturation from dark or bright areas and making detail more visible. When using Sony DynaView technology a dynamic range of 86dB can be achieved.

This Sony network camera offers 3 types of video compression: H.264, Motion JPEG and MPEG-4, providing the user with quality, storage and bandwidth flexibility. On-board recording support enables the recording of data locally onto an SD card (not included).
