The Sony IPELA SNC-EP550 is a pan-tilt-zoom CCTV camera which captures footage in high-quality HD720p resolution at up to 30fps. Combined with powerful 28x optical, 340° rotation and 105° tilt, the camera is able to cover a wide area, lowering system costs. The camera features an infrared-cut filter, switching from full colour to high-quality monochrome during the night, making it a practical choice for scenarios which require constant surveillance.

The camera's wide dynamic range helps to capture more detail in high contrast areas, ensuring that events in shadowed and bright areas can be viewed simultaneously. DEPA video analytics can capture motion events while ignoring expected movement such as tree branches, targeting only essential events to minimize hard drive usage.

The camera can be powered using High Power over Ethernet, providing both power and data using one cable, reducing installation time and wiring costs. Footage can also be locally stored on an SD card, increasing system reliability while reducing costs as no external recording device is required.
