Overview of the Raytec Vario i8-3

Part of the Raytec Vario series of adaptive infrared illuminators, the i8-3 delivers up to 180° and a maximum of 380m distance of infrared illumination at a 850nm wavelength. Supplied with 3 lenses, users can select a 10°, 35° or 60° angle of illumination by quickly and easily changing the Vario holographic insert, providing flexibility and precise illumination to match the required field of view (80° and 120° lenses are sold separately and can be selected from the drop down menu above if required). Overexposure issues are corrected by hot-spot reduction technology, which delivers an elliptical beam which is highly diffused therefore generating longer distances and delivering more light to where is it is needed.

The Raytec Vario i8-3 is designed for use in combination with IP video cameras featuring an infrared-cut filter, enabling the camera to capture black and white CCTV images during darkness. The use of an infrared illuminator enables a CCTV camera to deliver 24/7 security surveillance, improving the night-time performance of a camera and increasing the safety of areas in darkness. IP66 rated, the unit is suitable for outdoor use and in a wide range of applications.

Each illuminator features Platinum advanced LED technology, Light Intensification Miniature Optics (LIMO) and an enhanced Cool Running thermal management system to ensure reliable, high performance operation. Incorporating power-saving features such as power adjust, telemetry control and timer function, the Vario i8-3 delivers low running costs and high performance, minimising waste and maximising light.

The Raytec Vario i8-3 is supplied with a wall/ceiling mount bracket and has a 5 year warranty.
