Offering reliable low-light performance indoors, the Axis P3265-V varifocal dome captures video in HD 1080p resolution at full frame rate. The camera’s built-in IR-cut filter provides true day/night recording by automatically switching to night vision mode when the light level drops. Furthermore, full-colour night vision is provided by Lightfinder 2.0 technology, improving the camera’s ability to discern and identify objects and individuals in extremely low light. additional features include support for edge storage, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and Axis deep learning object analytics.

Camera

Allowing users to adjust the camera’s viewing angle to their specifications during installation, the camera’s varifocal lens provides horizontal views between 36° and 100°. The unit also features integrated I/O ports that connect audio devices to the camera to enable two-way audio and audio detection analytics, enhancing scene awareness and allowing users to communicate with individuals in the camera’s vicinity. Furthermore, the camera is encased in IK10 rated housing to protect it from tampering – ideal for installation in areas prone to vandalism attempts.

Imaging

In addition to Lightfinder 2.0, the P3265-V is also able to capture clear footage in a range of other challenging situations, thanks to integrated imaging technologies. Over- and underexposure can be avoided using Forensic WDR to reduce visible noise and artifacts in high contrast conditions. For more narrow scenes, this camera includes Corridor Format, a technology that vertically orientates the video stream to maximise area coverage and reduce bandwidth.

Video analytics

Equipped with Axis’ state-of-the-art ARTPEC-8 chipset, this camera benefits from an onboard deep learning processing unit (DLPU) to provide highly granular object detection and classification. By processing data on the edge, no information is lost via compression or transmission, allowing more reliable and detailed object detection, with the ability to distinguish between vehicles and humans as well as different sub-classes in real-time. Motion-based triggers can also be set to notify users or initiate recording if movement is identified in the field of view – making sure nothing is missed, even if a user is not watching the video stream.

Video management

Data can be recorded directly to the camera’s onboard SD card (card not included) to form a backup if the network fails. For smaller installations, users can manage their video on the free-to-download Axis Companion Application with support for up to 16 camera channels. Alternatively, if more advanced video management is required, the unit is also compatible with video management software such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect.

Installation

Designed for straightforward installation, the camera can be easily installed using PoE to provide power and network connectivity over a single cable, reducing the number of wires required on-site. Zipstream technology limits bitrate and optimised storage requirements by using intelligent algorithms to identify key forensic details that require full resolution capture – therefore not compromising image clarity to reduce bandwidth.
