Overview of the Nuuo NVRsolo NS-8160

Part of NUUO’s affordable and popular NVRsolo recorder series, the NS-8160 Linux-based network video recorder provides 16 channels and up to 32TB storage with 8 drive bays (8 x 4TB). Additional features include HDMI output for HD 1080p live display, intelligent video search, mobile support and motion detection email alert.

The NVRsolo NS-8160 network video recorder from NUUO enables up to 16 cameras to be managed using a simple interface whilst providing storage capability up to 32TB for high resolution and high frame rate recording in addition to long term data storage. Footage can be recorded, played back and viewed live simultaneously, allowing uninterrupted operation at all times. The NS-8160 can be controlled via the network or alternatively, can be used as a standalone NVR controlled by a mouse and keyboard (not included), with HDMI output providing HD 1080p live display on a monitor. With plug-and-play setup via ezNUUO, the NS-8160 is hassle free to set up, automatically finding cameras across the network and overcoming issues with IP addressing, port-forwarding and network settings.

Linux-embedded, the NS-8160 provides a reliable and stable platform, reducing the chance of virus attack and system crash. 16 channel support makes the NUUO NS-8160 suitable for small to medium sized businesses and support for POS overlay makes it ideal for use in retail environments. The POS (Point-of-Sale) facility provides POS information overlay for up to 4 channels, enabling in depth analysis and investigation into issues such as cash shortages, errors and ‘sweethearting’. Digital watermarking for secure video data, easy export of footage, PTZ joystick operation and external DAS storage are additional handy features of the NS-8160.

Specific video data can be quickly and efficiently located using the NS-8160’s intelligent search function, which can detect if an object has been left or removed and if the camera has lost focus or been obstructed. With built-in video motion detection, the NUUO NS-8160 can trigger alert emails and mobile push notifications in addition to event recording to ensure the user is alerted and activity is captured. NUUO provides handy remote access to the NVRsolo through iPhone, iPad and Android devices using the iViewer app, enabling live viewing and video playback whilst on the move. With digital PTZ and multi-view capability, the NS-8160 provides effective area coverage and event analysis, whilst bandwidth and storage can be managed efficiently using dual streaming, typically enabling live viewing in low resolution and recording in high resolution.

With advanced dewarping technology, the NS-8160 is ideal for use with 360° panoramic and hemispheric IP cameras, working well particularly with Mobotix, Axis, Sony, Arecont and Vivotek fisheye models. Compatible with hundreds of different IP camera makes and models, the NUUO NS-8160 delivers an open platform recording solution, with support for multi-megapixel recording, two-way audio and H.264. Free access to software updates provide new features and ongoing long-term product support. Several NS-8160 units can also be combined to provide up to 128 channels that can be managed via s single user interface.
