Overview of the Hikvision DS-7716NI-E4

This affordable network video recorder by Hikvision provides a simple recording solution, ideal for small to medium organisations. It supports the recording of up to 16 camera channels and provides a maximum of 24TB storage. Additional features include built-in motion detection, integrated PoE switch and HDMI output.

This unit supports the monitoring and recording of multiple network cameras at a resolution of up to 6MP. The user is able to independently configure each channel and set the optimum combination of resolution, frame rate and bit rate for efficient storage management.

Hikvision iVMS-4200 client software can be downloaded to allow the quick set up of configurations to help meet the user’s security requirements. Alternatively, an HD monitor can be connected via the HDMI port providing a simple standalone solution without the need of a PC.

A range of video motion detection methods alongside tampering alarms can be configured to increase scene awareness. The user can connect external devices through the I/O ports to provide support for two-way audio (depending on the connected camera model’s audio capabilities). This allows activity in the scene to be heard and communication with those present - helpful for investigating events in real-time.

Recordings can be set to run continuously or scheduled for specific events such as night-time recording, or as a result of an alarm signal. Recordings can be easily retrieved with the smart search feature, played back and then exported via the USB connection or DVD/RW drive.

This network recorder can be connected to a range of third-party IP cameras providing a cost effective and flexible NVR choice.
