Overview of the Hikvision DS-2DP0818ZIX-D/236

This panoramic surveillance solution by Hikvision consists of four sensor modules that deliver a 180° overview in 8 megapixel resolution, as well as an integrated PTZ dome that enables the capture of clear close-ups in HD 1080p. Designed for round-the-clock monitoring of outdoor locations, the IP66-rated unit also features adjustable infrared (IR) LEDs which help to enhance night vision at a range of up to 200m. Additional features include on-board MicroSD card storage (card not included) and support for H.265 compression format.

The built-in PTZ dome features full pan/tilt functionality, with a 36x optical zoom for real-time investigation into specific regions of interest. A handful of imaging technologies are also included such as wide dynamic range (WDR) and 3D noise reduction to improve the quality of images captured in challenging light conditions. Various video motion detection alarms can be configured to alert users of possible incidents, and external devices can be connected via the unit's I/O ports to enhance alarm signalling. These motion detection alerts can also be set to trigger specific tasks such as starting the automatic target tracking function to ensure activity is followed and captured.
