Overview of the Hikvision DS-2DF8836IV-AELW

This PTZ dome by Hikvision delivers 4K Ultra HD resolution at up to 25 frames per second (fps). It offers full pan/tilt functionality and a 36x optical zoom for detailed examination of the scene. The unit’s IK08 and IP66 rated housing, alongside support for true day/night recording and integrated infrared (IR) illumination, make it an ideal choice for monitoring outdoor locations – 24 hours a day.

Variable speed pan/tilt movements including an endless 360° pan allow users to navigate across wide areas easily; this is particularly helpful when monitoring individuals and events as they unfold. Areas of interest can be investigated in real-time using the 36x optical zoom, and a 16x digital zoom is handy for quick close-ups of the original image.

The unit’s integrated IR LEDs have an illumination distance of up to 200m, and Hikvision’s Smart IR function adjusts the IR intensity according to zoom levels - helping prevent overexposure when the camera is fully zoomed in. Additional imaging technologies are also supported, such as wide dynamic range and 3D noise reduction to improve image clarity in difficult lighting conditions.

Video motion detection alarms can be configured to help alert users of possible incidents. These alarms can also be used to trigger Hikvision’s Smart Tracking feature which enables the camera to follow and capture an object or individual’s activity when motion is detected. The integrated alarm and audio I/O ports allow users to connect external devices that can help enhance alarm signalling or enable features such as two-way audio.

High PoE reduces cabling by delivering both power and network connectivity via a single cable and built-in MicroSD card storage (card not included) provides a handy data back up if network connection is lost. Simple video management can be carried out using the included Hikvision iVMS-4200 software and users are able to download the free Hik-Connect mobile app for basic CCTV monitoring on-the-go.
