Overview of the Hikvision DS-2DE7174-A

Ready for external installation, this pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) network camera from Hikvision is capable of delivering HD 720p resolution images at up 25 frames per second (fps). The unit is capable of providing true day/night surveillance with infrared LEDs illuminating up to 100m at a maximum. Optional zooming methods enable closer views within the scene and further investigation into the image, ideal for identification purposes. Further features of this cost-effective surveillance choice include a 1/3’’ Progressive Scan CMOS sensor, on-board storage and support for dual streaming.

The endless 360° pan and 90° tilt allows a wide area to be covered with a single camera resulting in a cost-effective surveillance solution within installations that would normally require multiple fixed IP units. A 20x optical zoom enables the user to obtain a closer view of specific areas within the field of view that are of interest, while a 16x digital zoom allows further investigation into the image - ideal for identification. 

An integrated IR-cut filter switches the camera image from full colour to black and white night-vision providing 24 hour surveillance, night-vision is enhanced with built in IR LEDs providing an IR illumination range of up to 100m. 3D noise reduction and wide dynamic range (WDR) improve image quality in low light or high contrast scenes and the addition of backlight compensation (BLC) helps to prevent areas of interest being silhouetted against bright backgrounds. Two programmable privacy masks are available preventing operators from viewing certain areas of the camera’s view that may be private or sensitive.

This network camera is capable of dual streaming with popular compression formats - H.264 and MJPEG. This offers flexibility during system configuration to tailor the resolution and frame rate to suit network and storage limitations. Equipped with a MicroSD card slot (card not included) up to 128GB to be stored internally on the camera.
