Overview of the Hikvision DS-2DE5220IW-AE

This PTZ network camera by Hikvision captures HD 1080p footage at up to 25 frames per second (fps). The camera features full pan/tilt functionality and a 20x optical zoom for in-depth scene examination. True day/night recording is enhanced with IR illumination up to 150m for round-the-clock monitoring. Additional features include PoE+ and support for edge recording with a MicroSD card (not included).

Endless 360° pan and variable pan/tilt speeds allow precise navigation throughout a large area. The camera’s 16x digital zoom allows closer examination of the original image. For clearer night-time viewing, Hikvision’s smart IR function adjusts the infrared illumination according to zoom levels – helping prevent overexposure of objects close to the camera.

The camera improves image quality in complex light conditions with a range of imaging technologies. For scenes with dark shadows and bright highlights, digital Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) ensures detail is captured in all areas. Additionally, 3D noise reduction reduces the levels of noise often seen in low-light video.

Video motion, intrusion and line crossing detection alarms are configurable and can notify users of incidents via email notification. Alarm signalling can be enhanced with the connection of external alarm sources via the integrated I/O ports. Additionally, alarms can be used to trigger the 3D intelligent positioning feature - moving the camera view directly to a pre-configured location. With the use of the audio I/O ports, the user can connect a microphone and speaker to enable two-way audio and allow verbal interaction through the camera.

High Power-over-Ethernet provides a cost-effective installation with the power and network connection being supplied over a single cable. Edge recording with a MicroSD card (not included) offers a back up in the case of network failure.
