Overview of the Hikvision DS-2CD4B26FWD-IZS

This versatile bullet network camera by Hikvision delivers full HD 1080p resolution at up to 25 frames per second (fps) and captures colour images in low light using Darkfighter technology. Suited to wide variety of video surveillance applications, the unit's IP67-rated housing offers protection when used in outdoor areas. True day/night recording is enhanced with built-in infrared (IR) LEDs, delivering clear night-time images up to a distance of 30 metres. Additional features include on-board MicroSD card storage and simple installation using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

The camera is equipped with a varifocal lens that enables optimum scene coverage to be set during installation and built-in infrared LEDs provide up to 30m of night-vision. By utilising a range of imaging technologies, the unit is able to provide clearer IP CCTV footage in difficult lighting conditions. 3D noise reduction and wide dynamic range (WDR) help to improve image quality in low light or high contrast scenes; while Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) is also included to reduce the effects of camera movement from wind or vibrations.

Two-way audio is supported with the connection of a microphone and speaker (not included) via the external I/O ports, enabling audio recording and communication with those close to the camera. In addition, external alarm sources can be connected via the built in I/O ports to enhance alarm signalling.

Video motion detection is built in and configurable alarms can be set for line crossing, intrusion detection and tampering. Users can be notified of events via a range of monitoring options which include the free Hikvision iVMS-4200 video management software.

Local storage with the use of a MicroSD card (not included) offers a data backup and allows the camera to be used in a stand-alone set up. PoE support supplies the camera with both power and network connection over a single cable to enable quick and cost-effective installation.
