Overview of the Hikvision DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS

This IP camera by Hikvision is part of the Lightfighter series, designed to capture quality images in high contrast environments. The network bullet camera with built-in infrared provides up to 50m of night-vision, providing round the clock surveillance. Other features include full HD 1080p imaging, true day/night, 3D noise reduction and digital wide dynamic range. The Hikvision range of Smart functions that compliment this model include 2-way audio, a variety of advanced detection methods, defog as well as on-board storage up to 128GB and PoE. Supplied with iVMS-4200 software and supports mobile access.

With a full HD resolution running at 50 frames per second (fps), this network camera features Lightfighter technology to capture high quality coloured images in back lit scenes and an infrared-cut filter to deliver true day/night capability. This camera from Hikvision provides good quality surveillance with an array of detection methods including line crossing, object left/removal, area entering/leaving, audio detection and face detection. This feature set makes it an ideal low-cost choice for medium and larger size organisations.

This unit has IP-67 rated weather resistance which allows for durable CCTV monitoring in an external installation. 3D digital noise reduction maintains image clarity in low-light surveillance scenes, whilst digital wide dynamic range (WDR) captures both bright and dark areas, ensuring balanced video. Defog technology improves quality within scenes that are subject to environmental conditions such as fog, haze, smoke or dust.

A MicroSD card slot (card not included) allows users to store video on-board the camera up to 128GB giving you the option of decentralised storage or stand-alone set up. Installation using Power over Ethernet (PoE) is quick and simple, using a single cable for both power and network connection. The codec technology caters for popular compression formats such as H.264 and Motion JPEG-4 which gives a choice within the set up of this IP camera. The compression of video using H.264 method supports low bit rate as well as low latency to minimise the system’s load and storage requirements.

Included with all Hikvision cameras is iVMS-4200 video management software. Users can access video remotely using the iOS and Android Hikvision mobile app.
