Exclusively developed for use with Axis IP cameras, CamStreamer CamSwitcher is an ACAP application that works alongside the CamStreamer application and enables users to seamlessly switch between up to 5 live and recorded streams directly onboard the camera, with no extra hardware required. Changing between RTSP video streams from connected cameras, this application is ideal for streaming sporting or entertainment events allowing multiple views or video sources to be displayed.

Application

Users can create predefined playlists that automatically switch or are triggered via API commands, or alternatively, they can choose to manually swap between views. Playlists are also able to loop for 24 hours if required. Motion-based switching is also available with Sport Tracker, enabling the configuration of motion-tracking zones on a 4K camera, automatically bringing up the best camera view and ensuring every movement is captured. Up to three zones can be set, or three camera views. A master audio track can also be added and can be played across the entire stream.

Functionality

Controllable via a PC or mobile interface, this flexible application is suitable for live streams that require manual operation. Remote management is a useful addition that allows the stream to be configured and managed from almost anywhere. Users can add recorded video and audio clips onto an SD card (which must be installed onto the master camera) and add them to the stream in addition to live views.

Licencing and integration

Integration is straightforward, one licence is installed on the 'master’ camera and covers up to 4 additional cameras or video sources that can be connected on the same network. This application also requires the CamStreamer application to be installed on the master camera and any subsequent camera in order to share live video streams.
