Overview of the Allied Telesis AT-MC103XL
A fast Ethernet media converter capable of joining networks up to 15km apart, the Allied Telesis AT-MC103XL features single-mode SC fibre connectors, half and full duplex operation, auto MDI/MDI-X and a basic fibre test facility.
The unit makes use of Allied Telesis' unique MissingLink feature where it can pass on the fibre link status to other network devices, meaning that remedial actions such as SNMP traps can be set to trigger when the link drops.
The unit features a rack or wall-mountable design. Rackmounting is done with an additional Allied Telesis rack housing which can incorporate up to 12 standalone units enabling centralised aggregation of incoming fibre.
