Overview of the Allied Telesis AT-IFS802SP/POE(W)-80

The Allied Telesis AT-IFS802SP/POE (W) is a high performance managed PoE switch designed for and built to meet the high reliability and requirements of industrial applications. 8 ports of PoE (802.3af) are supported and along with layer 2 managed operation and 8 x 10/100TX ports the unit also comes with 2 x 10/100/1000 SFP uplink ports.

The switch has power redundancy through two external DC power supplies, has an IP30-rated metal case and can be DIN rail mounted.

This extended temperature switch is ideal for outside deployment for use in powering digital IP security cameras and wireless access points. The switch provides the option of fibre-optic backhaul, allowing it to be deployed great distances from a control room.

With web-based management the unit provides easy access to some key features for the network manager including port-based VLANs, IEEE802.1p, QoS, port trunking/link aggregation, port mirroring and IEEE802.1 security support. It can support up to 8K MAC addresses and has a 1Mbit packet buffer. Additionally, the unit supports the X-Ring protocol that can help a network recover from connection failure within 20ms. Dual Homing and Couple Ring Topology are also supported to further increase network resilience and availability.
