The Panasonic BB-HCM581 network CCTV camera is the successor to the now discontinued BB-HCE481. Like the BB-HCE481 this camera features controllable pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) allowing you to control the camera remotely
over the local network (LAN) or internet. It has a 21x optical zoom which is ideal for monitoring distant objects clearly and also supports two-way audio, meaning you can listen in on sounds near the camera and also communicate with people in the vicinity.

The BB-HCM581 also includes a Colour Night View Mode, allowing the camera to capture full colour images in low light conditions down to 0.09 lux. It comes with a CCD imaging sensor for sharp image quality and will display images at resolutions of 640x480 (VGA) at speeds of up to 30 frames per second across all supported resolutions. With support for Power over Ethernet (PoE) IEEE 802.3af, the camera can be powered from the data cable meaning that installation is easy and quick, and cameras can be positioned in unconventional areas where power outlets would be difficult to find. Advanced features include email or FTP-based image transfer on a scheduled event or an alarm trigger such as motion detection or external sensor inputs. Images can also be recorded internally on SD Memory card giving a recording solution even when no network is available. The package includes a 1 camera license for Panasonic Network Camera Recorder software providing a complete security surveillance and monitoring solution straight out of the box. Like all IP cameras offered on www.networkwebcams.co.uk, the Panasonic BB-HCM581 has a built-in web server and can be viewed over a Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) or via the Internet.

Panasonic BB-HCM581 - Key benefits:

Key improvements over the Panasonic BB-HCE481:

• Simultaneous MJPEG and MPEG-4: The new MPEG-4 mode (the Panasonic BB-HCE481 only offered MJPEG video) allows full video streaming at 30fps across all resolutions including VGA 640x480 giving a much smoother performance at the maximum image size
• Increased internal buffer: The internal buffer size of the camera has more than doubled allowing the capture of approximately 350 images at 320x240, standard quality. The original BB-HCE481 could buffer approximately 125 images of the same resolution and quality. This excludes additional capacity gained from any SD memory card.
• Full Screen Mode: The Panasonic BB-HCM581 offers a full-screen mode which enlarges the field of view significantly when monitoring your camera
• Improved User Interface: The setup menus within the camera are much improved over the Panasonic BB-HCE481 and easier to use, particularly around event management
• The camera can also be powered by an optional AC power adapter (not supplied). The BB-HCE481 could only be powered by PoE so the BB-HCM581 provides more flexibility with powering options.

Panasonic BB-HCM581 - Key features:

• Controllable Pan-Tilt-Zoom: The camera can be controlled remotely using any web browser, allowing a single camera to monitor a wide area (175° to left and 175° to right, and a maximum 120° up and down). Zoom capability: 21x optical zoom plus 2x digital zoom (42x combined zoom)
• Two-Way Audio Communication: By using an external microphone and speakers (not included) you can listen to sounds at the camera and issue orders to people or intruders in the vicinity
• Internal Image Buffer of approximately 350 images (320x240 in standard quality setting) can be stored internally. This can be increased using SD memory.
• SD memory card recording: In addition to storing recorded images into internal memory, the camera can record them directly to an SD memory card without having to transfer them over a network to a PC (the number of images that can be stored on the SD memory card varies according to capacity. Supported capacities from 64MB to 2GB)
• Alarm triggering functions can initiate the transfer of images by email or FTP based on a events such as motion detection, alarm sensor inputs or based on a timed schedule
• 1/4" CCD image sensor for clearer and smoother display of moving objects, allowing easier and more effective monitoring
• Colour Night View Mode: In low-light the camera automatically switches to colour night view mode and captures colour images in lighting conditions as low as 0.09 lux
• Multi-camera Capability - Images from up to 16 cameras can be displayed using the camera’s multi-view display, 4 cameras simultaneously from 4 selection screens
