The Axis 5008-001 Power over Ethernet (PoE) Active Splitter separates the DC voltage and network data from an Ethernet cable carrying both. Using a PoE Active Splitter allows network cameras with no built-in PoE support to be used in a PoE configuration. PoE installations are a cost effective and reliable method of installing security cameras on an IP network while providing the ability to install cameras where locating power outlets would be difficult. Compatible with an Axis 205, 206, 206M or Axis 207 network camera and IEEE802.3af compliant PoE Midspans or PoE switches.

Key benefits of Power over Ethernet (PoE):

  • Power and data are run over the same cable (e.g. standard CAT5E cable), allowing the installation of an IP camera with just one cable
  • Allows cameras to be installed in areas where conventional electrical cabling and outlets are unavailable or difficult to install
  • Simplified cable installation significantly reduces installation time and costs

  • Compatible with: Axis 205, Axis 206, Axis 206M or Axis 207. Please note this splitter is NOT compatible with Axis 206W, Axis 207W or Axis 207MW
