Designed for use in situations that require non-invasive, ‘on-person’ recording, the Axis W101 body worn camera delivers HD 1080p resolution at up to 30fps in a compact, wearable form factor. The unit is compatible with the W700 docking station for offloading and storage of data to the W800 System Controller. Automatic recording capabilities can be triggered if the device becomes unholstered or the user falls over, ensuring all important details of the encounter are recorded. Furthermore, this product also features up to 17 hours of battery life, IP67-rated water resistance and Axis’ Zipstream technology optimised for body worn cameras.
Camera
The camera’s 2.1mm fixed lens offers a wide viewing angle of 141° - suitable for capturing a large area of the scene during an encounter. Dual built-in microphones record crisp, noise suppressed audio in the camera’s vicinity, enhancing video capture to provide comprehensive visual and audio evidence. Location tracking via an integrated GNSS receiver allows the camera’s location to be continuously recorded in the event of loss of contact with the user or the device. Additionally, wireless communication with the Axis Body Worn Assistant application is possible through built-in Bluetooth and network technologies.
Video management
The unit includes temporary data storage up to 64GB (up to 30 hours of video). Therefore, it is highly recommended that the W101 is used in conjunction with a docking station and system controller to allow the offloading and long-term storage of data. In addition, video can be managed via integration with Axis Camera Station or it can be integrated into high-performance third-party video management and evidence management applications such as Milestone XProtect using the Axis Optimizer Body Worn Extension.
Installation
Encased in robust and water-resistant IP67-rated housing and drop tested up to 2m, this camera is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Designed for easy mounting on a range of different clothing types, the unit’s KlickFast mounting system makes installation quick and easy. The W101 can also be integrated with an additional magnet mount (available from the accessories tab) to provide further mounting options. Moreover, Axis’ Body Worn optimised Zipstream technology reduces bandwidth usage whilst retaining important detail in the footage.
