Part of Axis’ P38 range of multi-sensor cameras, the P3818-PVE features three 5MP sensor modules that combine to deliver a seamless panoramic image in 13MP resolution at full frame rate – ideal for 24-hour monitoring of wide outdoor areas. The camera also includes support for two-way audio via edge-to-edge technology (mic and speaker sold separately), advanced imaging technologies for improved imaging in challenging conditions and can be easily installed via Power-over-Ethernet Plus (PoE+).

Camera

Three fixed 3.2 mm lenses combine to deliver 180° horizontal and 90° vertical area coverage - enabling this unit to capture extensive scenes in full detail. Support for two-way audio via edge-to-edge technology is included, enabling audio recording and verbal interaction within the camera’s vicinity (external speaker and microphone required). By adding audio capabilities to recordings users are able to gain a greater level of situational awareness, or even prevent incidents using audio announcements - deterring negative behaviour. Additionally, the camera’s ARTPEC-7 chipset delivers greater processing power and enables it to run a variety of intelligent analytics applications that can be customised to a user’s specifications.

Imaging

Footage from each of the three sensor modules is seamlessly stitched together to create a 180° panoramic field of view with no blind spots. Lightfinder 2.0, an advanced imaging technology designed to deliver full-colour video in near darkness, ensures all details are captured even in the most challenging light conditions. The camera’s imaging capabilities are also enhanced by Forensic WDR Capture, which optimises video by lowering noise levels and increasing the image signal to ensure details are visible in both dark and bright areas. The unit also makes use of privacy masking to retain the security of people and areas that are not permitted to be recorded.

Video analytics

To increase scene awareness, this unit allows motion-based alarm notifications to be configured, alerting users to possible suspicious behaviour in real time via email notification. The ARTPEC-7 chipset allows it to run advanced analytics applications such as Fence Guard, Loitering Guard and Motion Guard to increase situational awareness. Support for the Axis Camera Application platform is also included, enabling users to integrate approved third-party analytics into their system – providing a high level of customisation that breaks the boundaries of basic security surveillance.

Video management

The built-in MicroSD card slot (card not included) offers a helpful backup of data if the network fails and also allows the camera to be used in a stand-alone setup. Users can also manage, view and edit recorded and live video feeds via the free Axis Companion application. For more advanced video management, with an array of options, software such as Axis Camera Station or Milestone XProtect can be used.

Installation

Housed in IK10 vandal-resistant and IP66 weather-proof housing, the P3818-PVE provides a durable solution to outdoor surveillance. A dual mount is also available (not included) that allows users to mount two P3818-PVE cameras back-to-back, creating a full 360° field of view. Furthermore, with high-powered PoE+, the camera’s power and network connectivity is provided through one cable – simplifying installation and reducing the amount of wiring required.

Please note: there is no power supply included with this unit. It is power over ethernet capable.
