Overview of the Bosch DINION IP Starlight 6000 HD

This box IP camera by Bosch is part of the Starlight series and delivers full-colour HD 720p resolution video – even in near darkness. It supports true day/night recording as well as Bosch’s Essential Video Analytics for enhanced security monitoring of indoor areas - 24 hours a day. Resolutions up to HD 1080p are supported, and a choice of CS-mount lenses are available that offer varifocal viewing angles up to 114°. Additional features include edge storage and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

Using a range of advanced imaging technologies, the camera is able to capture clear video footage - even in difficult lighting conditions. Bosch’s Starlight technology supports the capture of full-colour images in light levels as low as 0.0069 lux (model dependent) by utilising advanced sensor technology combined with high-performance noise reduction. Low-light imaging is also improved with Bosch’s Intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction Technology (IDNR) which analyses the scene and reduces noise levels accordingly.

Areas of interest can be user-defined and separate streams for viewing and recording can be produced, allowing these regions to be viewed separately whilst retaining overall awareness. In addition, the original image can be examined in more detail using electronic pan/tilt/zoom (E-PTZ) controls - helpful when trying to identify persons or objects.

Bosch’s Essential Video Analytics is an i-LIDS approved, edge-based technology that provides a range of configurable alarms to help deliver reliable and accurate surveillance. 14 rules are available including line crossing and people counting, and users can set a maximum of 8 rules to be processed simultaneously. Detailed metadata is recorded at the point of capture, allowing users to easily retrieve specific footage from hours of stored video if ever required. Running this advanced technology at the edge means all processing can be done without putting any load on the network.

Bandwidth levels can be managed with the use of area-based encoding and compression parameters for up to eight user-definable regions. This allows less interesting regions to be highly compressed, leaving more bandwidth for areas deemed more important. Data can be stored directly to the onboard MicroSD card (not included) for a handy backup if network connection is suddenly lost and PoE support delivers power and network connectivity over a single cable.

Please note: this camera does not come with a power supply, please select from the accessories tab if required. The supplied lens is not pre-fitted but the CS-mount allows it to be easily attached to the camera body.
