This high-performance, ATEX-Certified network camera from Axis is housed in a robust 316L stainless steel casing – making it an ideal choice for deployment in locations with a high risk of fire or explosions. The unit captures detailed 3MP resolution video at up to 30 frames per second (fps) and is equipped with Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology for improved image quality in challenging lighting conditions. Other useful features include edge storage, support for Power over Ethernet (PoE) and support for the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP) - enabling the installation and use of powerful analytics applications.
Camera
The robust camera’s enclosure meets the ATEX-Certified EX II 2 GD standard so is able to contain internal explosions and prevent sparks from escaping the device – making it ideal for use within high-risk environments such as petrochemical plants. The unit is also IP68-rated which allows it to withstand harsh weather conditions and provides protection against corrosion. In addition, the camera features a compact, lightweight design making for easy ‘one-man’ installation wherever you need it to fit.
This high-quality model is equipped with a fixed 2.8mm lens that provides a horizontal viewing angle of up to 92° and can capture detailed 3MP resolution video in extreme environments at up to 30 fps.
Imaging
WDR technology helps to improve images captured in challenging lighting conditions by compensating for bright light and dark shadows – ensuring individuals and objects are clearly visible. Additionally, Axis Corridor Format is also included to maximise the area of interest in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream and preventing redundant areas from being recorded. Multi-view streaming is supported, which allows up to 2 specific areas within the camera's field of view to be cropped and streamed separately for live viewing or recording - a helpful tool when closely monitoring regions of interest.
Video analytics
Users can be alerted by notifications such as email when motion is detected by the camera thanks to its range of configurable video motion detection and tampering alarms. Further high-performance analytics applications from Axis, as well as third-party developers, can be installed via the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP), such as virtual tripwire, loitering alarm and many other intrusion detection applications.
Video management
Recordings can be written to the integrated MicroSD card to provide a helpful backup of data if the network fails. Powerful video management is also possible through integration with high-performance video management software applications such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect to provide a more comprehensive solution.
Installation
With weather-resistant stainless steel 316L housing, this IP camera is built to endure the most demanding environments, including onshore and offshore applications such as marine or heavy industrial locations. PoE support also reduces installation costs by providing power and network connectivity over a single cable.
Please note: this robust unit must be installed and configured by an ATEX-Certified installer.
