Overview of the i-PRO WV-S2231L

This i-PRO dome IP camera delivers smooth HD 1080p resolution video at up to 60 frames per second (fps), complete with true day/night recording and infrared (IR) illumination of up to 30m. The unit features a vandal-resistant, IK10-rated housing to provide robust protection in exposed indoor areas and can be easily installed via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

A varifocal lens provides wide horizontal views (up to 110°) and allows the desired viewing angle to be easily set during installation. Handy 3.6x optical zooming is also available for real-time investigation into specific areas of interest.

Advanced imaging technologies such as Extreme Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) help the camera deliver clear video footage in difficult lighting conditions. Intelligent Auto (iA) mode monitors scene dynamics and motion, then automatically adjusts key camera settings in real-time to reduce image distortion such as motion blur in busy locations.

Up to 4 video motion detection areas can be configured to help provide reliable security monitoring. When motion is detected, these alarms can also trigger specific tasks such as email notifications or recording to the onboard SD card. The camera’s integrated alarm and audio I/O ports allow the connection of external devices that can enhance alarm signalling or enable features such as two-way audio.

Variable Image Quality on Specified Area (VIQS) technology allows eight designated areas of the image to retain higher image quality whilst all other areas are streamed in lower quality. This technique helps to reduce image file size and bit rate. In addition, PoE supplies power and network connection to the camera through one cable - simplifying installation.
