Designed for demanding and critical applications, this bispectral PTZ camera offers the best of both worlds with an HD 1080p visual lens and a 640x480 SVGA thermal lens – all through one unit and a single IP address. The unit’s visual lens features a powerful 32x optical zoom, alongside Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR to enhance monitoring in all light conditions. The thermal lens then enables high accuracy detection of moving objects to complement the high-level detail captured by the visual lens - delivering a comprehensive surveillance solution. In addition to full pan/tilt functionality, this model also includes support for edge storage, focus recall and Axis Zipstream technology.
Camera
This unit features a varifocal optical lens that provides horizontal views between 58.5° and 2.4°; users can then choose between a fixed 35mm or 35-105mm zoom thermal lens (available in 8.5fps or 30fps variations) – allowing them to customise a solution to meet their thermal viewing requirements. The thermal sensor works alongside the visual sensor to detect motion in the camera’s field of view, then activity can be monitored in detail using the visual lens and its 32x optical zoom. Navigation across extensive outdoor areas is made possible by endless 360° pan and 135° ‘ground to sky’ tilt capabilities – providing flexible viewing of the entire surveillance area. In addition, a 3.5mm line-in allows the connection of an external microphone to record audio within the camera’s vicinity; and integrated Focus Recall allows users to pre-set up to 20 areas with a particular focus - reducing the time taken to focus the camera.
Imaging
Along with its full PTZ capabilities, the camera’s high quality visual lens is enhanced by technologies such as Forensic WDR, that ensures high contrast footage is of optimum quality and Lightfinder 2.0 to assist in capturing clear, detailed footage in low light conditions. In addition, dual electronic image stabilisation (EIS) ensures both sensors capture smooth footage, even in instances of excessive movement. Furthermore, Zipstream technology reduces bandwidth by an average of 50% without compromising video quality, saving critical memory space.
Video analytics
This powerful unit comes equipped with a variety of analytics applications including Axis Fence Guard and Motion Guard for edge-based detection with reliable motion alarm triggers and Axis loitering guard to alert users of people lingering in the surveillance area – allowing them to act promptly and avoid potential incidents. The unit also supports Axis’ Camera Application Platform, a selection of approved downloadable applications to customise the unit based on the user’s specific requirements. Additionally, enhanced cybersecurity features such as signed firmware, secure boot and TPM 2.0 are included to improve the secure handling of data within the camera.
Video management
Edge storage is included, and recordings can be written to the on-board MicroSD card (not included) - providing a helpful backup of data if the network fails or allowing users to set the camera up as a standalone system. Axis’ video management software, Axis Camera Station or Milestone XProtect can be used with this camera to review and manage both live and recorded footage.
Installation
Designed for demanding for conditions, this camera is encased in IK10- and NEMA 4X-rated housing to protect it from vandalism attempts, whilst the IP66 rating assures users that it will perform well in inclement weather conditions. The camera can be wall mounted with an extra bracket (selectable from the accessories tab) to allow for flexible installation and the optimal viewing angle. Furthermore, an SFP slot (module not included) enables the unit to be connected to a long-distance network via fibre connectivity.
