This Axis network door station combines video surveillance with two-way communication and access control integration in a single device. The built-in IP camera captures detail-packed 6MP resolution video at up to 25 frames per second (fps) and features advanced imaging technologies to enable the identification of persons - even in challenging lighting conditions. Other useful features include an integrated RFID reader and keypad for use with access control systems, support for Power over Ethernet (PoE) and remote access via the free Axis Companion mobile application.
The unit’s built-in 6MP IP camera provides a panoramic viewing angle of 180° to give users clear overviews of the entry space. Identification is enhanced by the integrated microphone and speaker – delivering echo-free two-way audio for intercom-style communication. An induction loop for hearing aids is also supported, helping to create an intuitive and accessible interaction for visitors and staff. The built-in RFID reader and keypad, combined with the device’s open interfaces, allow users to integrate the door station with any existing access control system to effectively monitor and control who enters and exits their premises. The unit also includes multiple I/O ports for the remote control of door locks and other equipment to help further improve access control. In addition, this model features an HDMI output for connection with an external display monitor - handy for use in reception areas.
Forensic Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology lowers noise levels and increases the image signal to ensure details are clearly visible in both bright and dark areas – also ensuring few motion artefacts are apparent in busy scenes. Users can also examine areas of interest within the original image in greater detail thanks to digital pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) controls.
This advanced door station features a range of configurable video motion detection methods to help enhance scene awareness. It also includes a multifunctional PIR sensor to detect approaching individuals, which can then trigger events such as delivering a verbal greeting or start recording. Third-party audio analytics can be configured to trigger audio warnings or recordings if aggression is detected. Built-in tamper detectors can also trigger events if a person attempts to gain access by manipulating the door station. Additionally, support for the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP) allows users to install further high-performance analytics applications from Axis and third-party developers.
Integrated edge storage (microSD card not included) provides a backup solution if the network connection is lost. Users can access the door station remotely via the free Axis Companion application. For more sophisticated video management, the flexible unit can also be easily integrated with other high-performance VMS applications, such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect.
Support for PoE allows the door station to receive both power and network connection via a single network cable. This also provides a sufficient amount of power to support and control most standard door locks directly from the unit. In addition, the unit’s casing is IP66-rated and features scratch-resistant glass for durable outdoor use.
