Overview of the Microchip PD-9001GR
The Microchip is a High Power over Ethernet midspan which can supply up to 30W of power to compatible network devices through a standard Ethernet connection, simplifying cable installation or providing power where there is no local outlet. The unit is compatible with IEEE802.3af and 802.3at power standards and will not supply power to non-PoE devices should an incompatible device be connected accidentally. Additionally, built-in safety features will automatically cease sending power should a fault occur and will not send power again until it is resolved.
The PD-9001GR features data throughput speeds of 10, 100 and 1000MBps and is compact for unobtrusive installation. The unit's interlocking design means that multiple units can be locked together and can also be wall mounted if required. For ease of connection, the midspan is bundled with a 0.25m cat5e cable.
