This outdoor-ready PTZ IP camera is part of Axis’ advanced Q61 range and captures smooth HD 1080p resolution video at up to 50 frames per second (fps), as well as offering long-range IR illumination capabilities. The camera features full pan/tilt functionality with powerful 32x optical zoom for in-depth scene investigation and is supplied with an Axis High Power over Ethernet (PoE) midspan for straightforward installation. Thanks to Axis’ ARTPEC-7 Chipset, this unit is also able to utilise high-performance imaging technologies and analytics applications including Lightfinder 2.0 and Axis Object Analytics.

Camera

The high-quality camera is equipped with full pan/tilt functionality (360° pan/70° tilt) and 32x optical zoom – allowing users to precisely navigate across large locations and examine areas of interest in closer detail. 12x digital zoom is also handy for quick close-ups of the original image. Additionally, the advanced unit includes built-in IR LEDs which help to enhance night-vision at a distance of up to 250m; and OptimisedIR technology also means that the IR beam automatically adapts to become wider or narrower as the camera zooms in and out. This helps to ensure the entire field of view is always evenly illuminated for reliable 24-hour monitoring.

Imaging

A range of advanced imaging technologies are available that help the camera deliver clear video footage in difficult lighting conditions. Lightfinder 2.0 means this model captures low-light images with more saturated colours and produces clearer images of moving objects. Forensic Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology is also included and enables details in scenes with high-contrast lighting to be viewed clearly; as well as ensuring that few motion artefacts are apparent in busy scenes. Furthermore, for reliable images in challenging weather conditions, Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) will compensate for small movements of the camera by keeping the image sharp and clear.

Video analytics

This top-of-the-line camera is pre-installed with Axis Object Analytics which uses machine learning techniques to enable the detection and classification of humans and vehicles tailored to users’ surveillance needs. With innovative Axis Active Gatekeeper technology, auto tracking 2 and an orientation aid, the camera is also able to pan to a preset position when motion is detected and then automatically track the object. These advanced analytics serve to enhance the unit’s configurable video motion detection alarms for reliable security monitoring. In addition, the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP) is supported – enabling the installation of other advanced analytics applications from Axis and third-party developers.

Video management

Recordings can be stored locally to the on-board MicroSD card (not included) and used as a backup if the network fails. This quality unit also supports recording to network attached storage (NAS) devices; catering for even the most demanding storage capacity needs. It is possible for users to integrate the camera with high-performance video management systems such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect to provide a powerful surveillance solution. This model is also compatible with the Arcules Cloud CCTV platform.

Installation

Supplied with an Axis High PoE midspan, this camera can receive power and network connectivity over a single cable to simplify the installation process. It is housed in an IP66 and IK10-rated casing for durable use in outdoor locations that are prone to tampering attempts; while speed dry ensures clarity in rainy weather and supports efficient cleaning.
