This Axis PTZ dome IP camera delivers round-the-clock HD 1080p video capture at up to 50 frames per second (fps). Its robust, vandal-resistant housing offers protection in exposed areas and regions of interest can be examined in detail using the unit's full pan/tilt functionality and 32x optical zoom. In addition, thanks to the newest generation of Axis ARTPEC chip, this camera offers advanced security functionality to help enhance cyber protection.
Endless 360° pan and variable pan/tilt movements enable users to precisely navigate across wide areas – helpful when closely monitoring activity. Focus recall is a unique feature that provides instant focus in predefined areas and improves PTZ performance in challenging lighting conditions. It removes the need to manually focus or wait for autofocus to adjust and is useful in scenarios that require a lot of manual operation using a joystick.
Forensic WDR is supported, ensuring the capture of details in high-contrast scenes and Axis’ advanced Lightfinder 2.0 imaging technology captures full-colour images even in ambient light extremes. Axis’ Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) technology is also included to ensure video is smooth and steady despite camera movement from wind or vibrations.
Configurable video motion detection methods can be set to send alerts of activity to the user via email notifications; and when used in conjunction with Active Gatekeeper, these alarms can be used to trigger certain tasks such as starting a guard tour or moving directly to a pre-set location – ensuring all activity is recorded. Additionally, there is also the ability to connect an external microphone through the audio I/O port, allowing activity occurring close to the camera to be recorded.
This camera includes a range of handy features to assist in the prevention of unauthorised access. Signed firmware and secure boot help to ensure the integrity and authenticity of the camera’s firmware. Axis’ Zipstream technology helps to lower bandwidth and storage levels by an average of up to 50%. It optimises the video stream in real-time, allowing important details to be retained while unnecessary data is removed. In addition, support for High Power-over-Ethernet supplies the camera with both power and network connectivity via a single cable – simplifying installation.
