Overview of i-PRO SUD638

The i-PRO SUD638 outdoor AeroPTZ IP camera delivers HD 1080p resolution at up to 60 frames per second (fps). This network camera is designed for durable external use and is housed in an IP66/67 and IK10-rated fibre glass casing, protecting it against harsh weather conditions. Offering full pan/tilt functionality and a 30x optical zoom for detailed examination of the scene, additional features include Enhanced Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technology, Smart coding, Video Stability Augment System (SAS), built-in wiper and auto defroster.

Using variable pan/tilt movements, including an endless 360° pan and a tilt range of -90° to +90° (forward tilt), users can navigate precisely across wide areas – particularly helpful when closely monitoring a person or object. The unit's 30x optical zoom can also be increased to 45x HD optical zoom when the camera resolution is set to 1280 X 720 – for even closer examination.

This unit uses Enhanced Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technology, which extends the dynamic range for clearer images in challenging light conditions. Additionally, the SUD638 infrared (IR) capability can be enhanced with the addition of the optional IR LED unit (see dropdown menu), providing up to 150m of infrared illumination.

A host of Smart Coding technologies are also included in this PTZ to help users to manage their bandwidth levels effectively, such as Variable Image Quality on Specified area (VIQS), which allows 8 specific areas to be set which will retain the highest image quality, whilst excluded areas will have decreased image quality. You can also turn on the stream transmission adjustment feature which reduces the amount of data transmitted when there is little motion in the image – for further savings.

With the housing made up of salt-air corrosion-resistant fibreglass, which is also impact and weather-resistant, this network camera is built to endure in the most demanding locations. Able to operate in temperatures ranging from -50°C to +60°C, this unit also features a handy built-in wiper for removing excess water droplets, and an auto defroster setting to melt lingering ice. This camera also makes use of i-PRO’s unique Video Stability Augment System (SAS), which delivers superior, high-class hybrid image stabilisation in locations subject to vibrations.
