OptimisedIR illumination with up to 20m range of reach
HDMI output for connection to a monitor for local footage display
Axis 5-year warranty
Dimensions: ø 121 mm x 71 mm
This compact, vandal-resistant dome camera by Axis provides detailed video in 4MP resolution at full frame rate and can be used to monitor indoor locations 24 hours a day with its automatic IR-cut filter. Its night vision is also enhanced by OptimisedIR illumination that reaches up to 20m, making the mini-dome ideal for areas that are subject to changing light conditions and require round-the-clock monitoring. In addition, this camera also features a deep learning processing unit (DLPU), support for audio I/O and T61 connections and Lightfinder technology.
Featuring a varifocal lens that offers horizontal views up to 100°, users can set the desired viewing angle during installation. This unit also includes an HDMI output, allowing users to connect a local display to either view a live feed of their surveillance footage or to display near the camera acting as a deterrent for undesirable behaviour. Furthermore, two-way audio can be integrated through support for I/O and T61 connections (microphone and speaker not included), enabling communication within the camera’s vicinity.
To ensure optimum video quality, this camera includes several imaging technologies. Lightfinder supports the capture of full-colour footage in light levels as low as 0.18 lux, whilst high contrast scenes are captured clearly using wide dynamic range (WDR) that helps to improve images by compensating for bright light and dark shadows - ensuring individuals and objects are visible. Moreover, privacy masking conceals areas and individuals in the camera’s view that are not relevant or permitted to be recorded.
As this unit is integrated with a DLPU, it is able to take advantage of intuitive analytics based on deep learning on the edge. Analytics applications such as Axis Object Analytics and Axis Face Detection support more nuanced detection and classification than found in machine learning models. This advanced processing unit also supports the Axis Camera Application Platform, featuring an array of Axis and certified third-party downloadable applications, allowing users to further customise their surveillance. Additionally, video motion detection methods can be configured to alert users via email of possible incidents in real-time.
An integrated MicroSD card slot (card not included) provides a handy backup in case of network failure and also allows the camera to function as a standalone system. The free Axis Companion application offers simple video management for up to 16 camera channels and is available as a PC client or mobile application, whilst more advanced video management software such as Axis Camera Station or Milestone XProtect can be used for bigger or more demanding installations.
Installation aids such as remote zoom and focus allow users to set up the required viewing angle without having physical access to the camera – ideal for when a camera is installed in a less accessible area. This unit offers users the ability to repaint its casing to match any installation area to create a non-invasive surveillance solution. By receiving power and network connectivity through one cable using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), the number of wires and time needed to set up the unit is reduced. Furthermore, IP42 and IK08-rated casing offers water, dust and impact protection.
