Following the positive response from our Axis M2026-LE product video, we decided to put the Axis P1425-LE MkII through its paces with a round-the-clock demo. We chose this camera due to its impressive feature-set and performance in low-light conditions, all at a competitive mid-range price point.
With a viewing angle of 93°, the unit’s 2 megapixel sensor provides high-quality 1080p video at up to 60 frames per second (fps) which is enhanced with advanced imaging technologies such as Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) – Forensic Capture technology, which lowers noise levels and improves the quality of images captured in high contrast scenes, and Lightfinder technology which allows the capture of full colour images even in low-light environments. This popular bullet camera also comes with handy accessories including an adjustable weather shield and an integrated mounting bracket that allows you to easily install the unit on walls or ceilings – either indoors or out.
Some other main features included in the Axis P1425-LE MkII include: –
We set the camera up in our testing location and captured footage from the daytime, night-time and with infrared enabled. Watch our demo video below to see the results.
As you can see, during the day the P1425-LE MkII delivers clear, detailed video with a great balanced exposure and rich colours, even in overcast conditions. At night, Lightfinder technology maximises use of the light provided by the nearby street lamps to produce a full colour image with minimal noise and reduced contrast between bright areas and shadows. When infrared is switched on, we can see the OptimisedIR working well, avoiding overexposure even with our bright white vans being parked right next to the camera.
The Axis P1425-LE MkII has all the attributes needed to provide a high-quality and flexible solution for any business that requires round-the-clock surveillance of the outside of their premises. Other typical applications include warehouses, loading bays and service stations.
