Mobotix v25 indoor dome IP camera coming soon

March 29th, 2016 by Paul Sandford

Mobotix v25The Mobotix v25 is the latest addition to the German manufacturer’s range of indoor IP cameras. This new model is a classic dome design and is available in a black or white housing. It’s made primarily for ceiling mounting but an optional wall mounting kit opens up options for siting the unit.

The new v25 has a feature-set that’s in keeping with the specification common to all current Mobotix units – 6MP Moonlight Technology, built-in video analytics and motion detection, no moving parts, high quality components and edge recording. Mobotix have also added manual pan/tilt adjustment for the lens (between 0° and 90°) and an optional vandalism protection kit.

Mobotix’s range of indoor IP cameras already includes a diverse mix of form factors from the curvy wall-mounted i25 to the low-profile, ceiling-friendly c25. Adding a compact dome to the range increases the variety further and we think the new v25 will fill the gap for those looking to use a more traditional dome design.

The optional wall mounting kit features an integrated speaker and microphone in black or white to match the camera body. The kit makes 2-way audio an easy add-on and can be helpful for audio verification of alarms and relaying verbal instructions to staff or visitors.

It’s expected that the v25 will be compatible with 6 lenses (using either a day or night sensor) ranging from the B036 ultra wide angle (103°) through to the B237 distance telephoto (15°) making it suitable for a wide variety of applications. The manual pan/tilt adjustment also adds greater control during installation to achieve the optimum field of view and this is certainly an advantage over the fixed position i25.

The v25 has been announced with much focus on the optional IK10-rated vandalism kit which adds a stainless steel ring to protect the camera housing and a reinforced lens cover made of 3mm polycarbonate. There will be two versions of the vandalism kit – one for the default ceiling mount and another for the on-wall kit. This protection, combined with a variety of lenses, offers versatile solutions for environments where the existing range of indoor models would not have been suitable – examples would be prisons, police stations or military facilities.

The Mobotix v25 has been designed as an indoor “all rounder”. It’s a versatile model with or without vandalism protection and undoubtedly strengthens the indoor IP camera range from Mobotix. The camera is expected to be available very soon and the optional wall-mount and vandalism kits will follow in a couple of months – watch this space!
