Unique feature – Sony’s new Dual Light System

January 14th, 2015 by Jessica Brooks

Sony SNC-VB632DThe latest edition to the Sony outdoor camera range is the innovative SNC-VB632D infrared bullet network camera. Not only is the new model capable of HD 1080p at 60 frames per second it also incorporates Sony’s newly adopted Dual-Light system for ultimate night-time surveillance. Using both infrared and white light LEDs, the SNC-VB632D delivers high performance illumination during night-time, even providing a visual deterrent to intruders.

Whilst providing up to 30m of infrared night-vision for long-range black and white image capture at night, the Sony SNC-VB632D also uniquely employs white light LEDs, which are triggered upon movement within the camera’s field of view using the integrated video motion detection capabilities. Once triggered, the white light LEDs illuminate the scene over a 5 metre range, enabling the camera to capture full colour video for clear identification, whilst also offering a little surprise to unsettle intruders and acting as a potential deterrent. See how the Dual Light system operates with this diagram and watch the clip below to see it in action.

Even if a person is close to the camera, Sony’s Advanced IR technology automatically adjusts the level of illumination and accurately reproduces the activity without overexposure, preventing that ‘bleached out’ look and enabling you to identify individuals more easily. The SNC-VB632D features all the usual Generation 6 Sony technologies including View-DR wide dynamic range, enhanced DEPA advanced analytics such as face detection, plus image stabilisation to reduce the effects of vibrations on images. In combination with HD 1080p capability at 60 frames per second, this new addition is ideal for those applications that require high performance surveillance with clear identification particularly at night. It is ideal for use at entrances to buildings.

The Sony SNC-VB632D is available to order now and comes with Sony’s RealShot Manager Lite video management software for up to 9 cameras. Mobile access is provided through Sony’s Smartphone Viewer for convenient viewing whilst on the move.
