Axis release new versions of popular P13 series network cameras – P1355, P1355-E, P1357 and P1357-E

Axis P13-series IP cameraIP camera specialists Axis Communications have released four significant new network camera models this month under the existing P13 series. The high-end Axis P1357, P1357-E, P1355 and P1355-E fixed network cameras offer a variety of advanced, useful features for both indoor and outdoor surveillance. Take a look at the newly introduced network cameras, now available for purchase.

The new P13 series IP cameras are available in two resolutions; the Axis P1355 and Axis P1355-E are 2 megapixel with HD 1080p capability whereas the Axis P1357 and Axis P1357-E are 5 megapixel resolution, offering very high quality. Anticipated to become quick best-sellers, the new P1357 and P1357-E models will be replacing the previously popular P1346 and P1346-E network cameras. Axis has maintained the original price of £726.00 for the P1357 replacement model, despite the camera offering higher resolution than the original one and improved low light capability, making it a better deal and more appealable buy. The Axis P1355 indoor comes in at the lower price of £622.00, and with HD 1080p resolution and the same rich feature set, is positioned attractively to the higher-end user.

Like the previous P13 cameras, the new models feature true day/night functionality meaning the P13 series provide an ideal solution for 24 hour surveillance. The option of multi-view streaming using the digital PTZ function and optional SD storage means the P13 series is a good range if you are looking to minimise bandwidth and storage use across your network. SD storage also has the additional benefit of providing a back up function for network failures.

The new P13 IP cameras are a good choice for surveillance across a large area, when there is a need for selected areas to be in high detail both indoor and outdoor. Typical applications may include warehouses, government buildings and airports which could be subject to harsh weather conditions. The IP66-rating of the outdoor versions (P1357-E and P1355-E) can function in temperatures ranging from -40 ºC to 50 ºC (-40 ºF to 122 ºF) and are protected from dust, rain, bright sunshine and snow.

The new P13 series models all have a RS485 serial port for Pan/Tilt and a MicroSD slot rather than the previous SD card slot. All Axis network cameras come with Axis Companion software and a 1 user licence for Axis Camera Station One (both free downloads).
