This is a short, simple guide explaining the emergency factory reset procedure for an IQeye 700-series IP camera.
An emergency factory reset procedure is useful if you want to reset your camera back to its default settings or if you have forgotten the password.
Remove the power from the camera. This will either be the Ethernet cable if you are using PoE or powering off the PSU.
Locate the reset button on the back of the camera. On an IQeye 700-series camera the reset button is a small circular recess between the Ethernet and power connector. See diagram below, the reset button is highlighted in the red circle:
Using something with a point such as a straightened paper clip, push and hold the reset button. You should be able to feel the button depress when you do this.
While continuing to hold the reset button, apply power to the camera. Keep the reset button pressed for 10 seconds.
Release the button and give the camera time to re-boot.
Use the setup tool found on the CDROM to access the camera and setup the network details. The default administator login is as follows:
username: root
password: system
