How to do a factory reset your Panasonic BL-C1/20

December 12th, 2007 by Greg

Panasonic BL-C20 Factory Reset Aperture

This is a small HOWTO: guide which will help you reset your Panasonic BL-C1 or BL-C20 IP camera should you forget the password and find yourself unable to connect.

This guide will be suitable for the following cameras:

To perform a factory reset, do the following:

Step 1

Power the camera.

Step 2

Using a paper-clip or suitably pointed object, press the factory reset button and hold for 1 second. The reset button is situated on the side of the camera and clearly marked “FACTORY DEFAULT RESET”.

Step 3

The LED on the front of the camera will flash red, then go off, then flash red for a few times as it resets and reboots itself. Wait until it returns to a steady green.

Step 4

Your camera will be set back to factory defaults. To access the camera again you can either use the default IP address of 192.168.0.253 or access the camera using the setup software which came on the CDROM with the camera.

You will be asked to set a new administrator password when you first log back into the camera.

Additionally

If you only want to factory reset your camera to clear it back to defaults you can also do this from the camera’s maintenance pages.

Click the ‘Maintenance’ tab along the top of the camera’s page, and down the left hand side click the menu option ‘Reset to Factory Default’. You will see a screen giving warning about resetting the camera. Click the ‘Execute’ button to return the camera to factory settings.

If the camera was already registered lets say:
johndow@aol.com (previous owner)with the panasonic website is almost impossible to erase it and use your name,I tried resetting it but nothing seems to work. Any idea ?

    Hi Sam.

I think you are referring to the dynamic DNS addressing system built in to Panasonic BL/BB cameras (Viewnetcam.com).

This can only be reset by Panasonic in Japan. Contact your dealer for assistance.

I have two BL-C30A’s. I’m away from my house and one of them has quit. Can’t access it at all. I have a timer set up at home to shut everything, router and all, off for a half hour and usually everything will reset. I know the connection is fine as the one camera is still working fine. Probably no way of resetting it remotely? If I have the person who is looking after my house reset it physically (paper clip) will I be able to access the camera? I have no computer at the location so no way of setting it up with the disk. Thanks for your time.

Hi, I have a BL-C101 IP camera. I recently had it factory reset and it is working fine now, except there is a red light flashing instead of a steady green light. Any idea how to correct this?

    Thanks
